Live Counter — Catering Glossary Definition

A chef-manned station cooking or plating a specific dish live in front of guests.

A live counter is any catering station where a chef cooks, assembles or plates food live for guests — chaat, tandoor, wood-fired pizza, live pasta, jalebi with rabdi, dosa, paan and more.

Live counters add theatre and increase guest engagement. A rough Bangalore rule: one live counter per 80–100 guests.
