The Bangalore Wedding Caterer Checklist: Questions to Ask Before You Book
Most wedding-catering complaints come down to one of two things: something wasn't discussed at booking, or something was assumed by both sides. This checklist eliminates both.
Run through this with any Bangalore caterer before you sign — including us.
Before the first meeting
Have your venue confirmed, guest count estimated (with a +/-10% range), function list (haldi/sangeet/mehendi/reception), and any hard dietary requirements written down.
Have a rough budget range in mind. The caterer should be able to indicate which of their packages fits — see our pricing guide.
At the first meeting: ask these
1. How many weddings of my size have you catered in the last 12 months at this venue (or similar)?
2. Who will be the named event captain on my day, and will I meet them before the wedding?
3. What's your kitchen team size for a wedding of my scale?
4. Do you have a tasting session? At what stage, and how many people?
5. What's your backup plan for equipment failure, delivery delay, or staff shortage?
6. What's the exact food safety and hygiene protocol (FSSAI, kitchen inspection, ingredient sourcing)?
7. Which cuisines do you handle in-house vs sub-contract?
8. What's the payment schedule and cancellation policy?
Menu-specific questions
How many dishes are included in my package? What's the cost of adding more?
Do you handle Jain, vegan, allergen-specific? On a separate prep line?
How many live counters are included? Can I add more?
What's the per-plate cost if my guest count grows by 10% or 20%?
Logistics & day-of
What time will your team arrive? What time is teardown complete?
Are you familiar with my venue's rules on external caterers, service timings, noise cutoff?
Who handles cleanup? What's included, what's excluded?
What's the contingency for rain, power outage, or delay in the wedding schedule?
